Task 2 - Documents and processes that can be used for initial planning

 Mind map 

Advantages - Mind maps force the person to brainstorm ideas that correlate with each other for things like projects. It also helps them to create a plan and structure for essays or initial. 

Disadvantages - Using a mind map is that they hold very little information which is bad for something like initial ideas as you may want loads of ideas. Lacks a lot of visual data and doesn’t plan our time. 


Mood board 

Advantages - It can tell someone how you feel, explain your ideas without ideas, divide opinion, influence and inspire. Shows the house style, they are easy to make and they can show the theme of the project. 

Disadvantages - It doesn’t contain a lot of information it also doesn’t make it look professional. 


Blue-Sky thinking 

When a group of people get together and brainstorm. They throwing their ideas out. 

Advantages - They can save time because everyone is together. You will be able to assign roles that people specialise in. 

Disadvantages - Not very detailed, too repetitive. Disagreements among the team. 


SWOT  Analysis 

A SWOT analysis is used during the early stages of of the production to analyse which ideas are viable for a project. Find strengths, weaknesses , any opportunities that could open up and threats. 

Advantages - They are organised and a way of organising potential problems and any further room for expansion. Helps you create contingency plans. 

Disadvantages - New threats that appear along the way and they are very time consuming.
